Our visit to see Annie

We went to see Mike, Erica, and Annie this afternoon. Annie is so adorable! She loves playing peek-a-boo. She's starting to walk and she talks a bit. We had lunch and danced and played ball and went out and sat by the pool. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Cardiff, Chepstow, and Bath

We went to Cardiff Castle on Tuesday. It was magnificent. There were decorated rooms inside that we got to tour, but the "keep" was the most fun. It's this fortress in the middle of the castle grounds surrounded by a moat. We climbed up to the top and there were beautiful views.
If you look closely at the second picture, you'll see three people you know at the top of the steps =)


Wednesday we just took it easy. We had lunch in Chepstow, browsed in some of the shops, and then took a walk around the castle. It was a nice break from taking day trips. They're fun, but they can be quite tiring.

Today we went to Bath. It's across the river in England (our first exploration of England due to the £5.30 toll on the way back into Wales - that's about $10.50). The architecture was beautiful. We went into the Abbey and walked past the old Roman Baths. I walked up to the Circus and Royal Crescent while John and the kids explored the bookstores.


Tomorrow we're off to Newport to go on the Wetlands Walk (since we only had a short time there the other day) and then we're going to watch Jessie's horseback riding lesson.

We've been taking lots of pictures, but since we use the library computers, there's really no good way to get them up on the blog. So you'll have to wait for those. We'll post some as soon as we're home!

We've made it to Chepstow!

After spending a couple hours sitting on the tarmac at JFK, we finally got going and made it to Heathrow in time to catch our bus connection. So we ended up getting into Chepstow right on time!

So far we've gone to the Newport Wetlands for a walk and we saw Kung Fu Panda at the cinema. Today we're off to Tintern Abbey.

Foodwise, we've sampled some authentic British Fish & Chips (they keep the skin on the fish, otherwise it was okay), went to dinner at Pizza Hut (which may sound odd to some, but we love Pizza hut. Heck, we're the two that went to Pizza Hut on our wedding night, so for us, it was kind of neat to check out a Pizza Hut in another country), and we've tried some strange potato chip flavors (Roast Ox is actually quite delightful as was the Flame Grilled Steak). We still have to give the Prawn Cocktail and Roast Chicken chips a go.
