Evan is 7!

How often does your name rhyme with your age?! Very cool!
Happy Birthday to our little boy! Evan is such a smart, sensitive, funny, creative kid. He has so many facets to his personality. He's been enjoying swimming lessons, skating lessons, and Tiger Scouts. He's still head and shoulders taller than his friends. It's so much fun to see him growing up (although I still call him my baby) :-)
Evan had a swimming party for his birthday. He and his friends had a ball (including a light saber battle at the end)!

Magic Wings and Yankee Candle

So the kids had two days off for President's Day weekend. Since John had to work, I took the days off and planned a little adventure to the butterfly conservatory! We drove 1.5 hours to the place and as we pulled in, Evan said he didn't feel good, his face turned white as a sheet, and he made some yucky sounds. Despite Emma's suggestion that we could just leave Evan in the car, we pulled back out of the parking lot and headed home. Poor Evan (and poor Emma because she was so excited to go).
The next day, Emma and I headed out ourselves to go back to the butterfly place. We got there, paid $26 for tickets, went in, and found out fairly quickly that Emma wasn't too cool with the butterflies. It is a little crazy with so many butterflies fluttering everywhere,  she was not having fun. So, out we went. She had a great time in the gift shop though.
Nearby to the butterfly place is the Yankee Candle store, which is awesome. There are all of these different themed rooms, a toy shop, a candy store. Emma had a ball there. I wasn't sure I'd ever get her out. So, all in all, the trip was a success!
"I'm not so sure about this..."

"This isn't so bad when the butterflies aren't dive-bombing me!"
