On Saturday, Emma had a fever, so she had to stay at the hotel and rest while Evan and I went to the zoo. It was probably for the best, since we walked a ton and I have no doubt that Emma would be that child that's suddenly frolicking in the panda enclosure.
Most of these pictures are an animal in the background and Evan's head in the foreground. He made me take pictures of everything! He's never been to a zoo, so it was a really big deal to him. He was most excited to see the tigers, lions, and the zebras, but he had an awesome time seeing all of the animals.
| Some sort of primates that look like skunks |
| Bald eagles |
| The tiger!! |
| The tiger walked right in front of Evan! He was so excited! |
| They have a series of "trails" above the zoo for lions, tigers, and monkeys. If you look closely, you can see a lion resting up above the people. We actually walked under it, but I was a little concerned about getting peed on and didn't manage to get a picture. |
| Evan was delighted that the peacock was on the loose. He thought it was cool. |
| There's Evan down there checking out the gorilla |
| Bad picture, but there's a gorilla eating a cardboard box right in front of Evan. Evan thought it was hilarious. |
| He's smiling because that's a snake behind him. I hate snakes. I tried to talk him out of going into the snake habitat. "Nobody likes snakes. Snakes are boring. Let's go back to the tigers!!" No luck. And one happy boy enjoying teasing his mommy with snakes. |
| "Look mom! More snakes!" |
| In front of a big cobra statue. He thought it was funny that the light looked like a beard of slime when I showed him the picture. |
| The hot air balloon, which I am DEFINITELY going on if we ever go back! So cool! |
| Meerkats! |
| The rhino and zebra |
| Touching some sort of warthog statue |
| The giraffe |
| The sea otter dove in right in front of Evan. He thought that was cool. |
| And we couldn't leave without a spider man ice cream! |
