Lately...

Typical morning trying to get Emma dressed...

We visited Grandma Nancy earlier this month and had a great time (as always). Evan got his first lobster (didn't eat it, but did pick it out at the lobster pool). We went to the playground. Evan and Grandma made a delicious apple pie. And we even went out to a restaurant! I think that was Emma's first time at a restaurant. Evan went to one once when he was little. No pictures of that, but it went fairly well.

Peeling the apples is fun with the peeling machine!

Patting down the crust

Adding some maple syrup! Evan's favorite!

Making pie is tough work. Time for a drink!

"Hey, where's MY juice box??

"Hey, I remember you from the lobster pool!"

Hi!

Evan and Emma in action

We take videos of the kids all the time and they usually don't do what we were trying to capture or it's just 5 minutes of nothing happening. But these had some cute moments, so I figured I'd post them. It's always fun to see Evan and Emma in action!

This is after Evan taught Emma how to blow bubbles in her milk

And these are some videos of us playing outside. Normally we'd enforce the "no rolling pumpkins" rule a little bit more, but he was having fun (and it was actually pretty amusing to watch him)

Fire station

A few weekends ago the local fire station had an open house. We had fun checking the trucks out up close. Evan even got to spray the fire hose!

Evan refused to let me hold his balloon while he checked things out. He let Daddy hold it, but not me. Actually, he even let Emma hold it! All because when we went to SeptemberFest, I let go of his balloon by accident. Apparently I will never be trusted with a balloon again...

Spraying the "burning car" with the fire hose!

Puddles!

Riding in the ATV

"Alright, let's kick this thing into gear!"

We also had some fun playing in the yard and enjoying the beautiful weather.

My little helper carrying mums to the house. They were heavy!

Evan drew a goose and put leaves on for wings. He's definitely got his dad's creativity and talent for drawing!

Evan was having fun falling off his bouncy ball on purpose

Handsome boy!

Emma!!

"Cheeeeeeeese"

Laying down on the mossy walk isn't the best idea...

Emma kept saying "gentle", "flowa" while she patted the mums. So cute!

Pumpkin Patch!

We went to the pumpkin patch up in Southwick, MA this morning (not really a pick your own type of place, just a place with lots of pumpkins). The kids had a blast! They had the place pretty much to themselves except for one other set of kids around their ages. There was a little playscape, a "sandbox" with dried corn instead of sand, and a teepee. There was a hayride and a corn maze too, but Evan wasn't interested in either one. He was having plenty of fun with the other stuff. Emma could play with everything too! It was a great morning!

"I think this is the biggest one! Perfect!"

"Grrr. Nope Mom, don't need any help, I've got it..."
"See! I can do it, no problem. Now I'm going to play, you can take it from here, right?"

"How many more years until we can drive?"  "Mom said 30, but I'm not sure I trust her. We should Google it when we get home."

"I'll have to stop you there ma'am. No moms allowed"

Evan wasn't too sure about some of the inflated decorations. I guess they were a little creepy for a 3 year old.

"This stuff is great!"

Making corn angels

Quote: "Look Mom, I'm a pumpkin, and my hands are pumpkins too!"

Sometimes we can't tell if Evan is hugging Emma or strangling her, but we just yell "Smile!" and try to get a quick photo either way...

Cute little pumpkins!
