Emma Elizabeth
Emma Elizabeth Jeffrey was born today, Dec 27, at 1:32 AM. She weighed 8 pounds and was 21 inches long. Here are a couple pics with her grandmas.
And what does Evan think of this new addition?
"Sure she's cute but can she do TWO pacifiers at once?"
"Or how about sucking the applesauce right from the cup?"

What's wrong with this picture?
What's wrong with this picture? (Taken at Grandma Jane's house, with all the Jeffrey aunts and uncles and cousins.)
If you said, "Someone bought Evan an electric drum kit (BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!)," you'd normally be right, but no, that's not it.
What's wrong is that pink-shirted bump on the right side of the picture. That's the baby, still wrapped warm and snuggly inside poor exhausted Amy. Both of her due dates have passed (different docs came up with different due dates), and still the baby dreams on.
I wonder if maybe she's waiting for 2013? (The baby, that is, not Amy. Amy does NOT want to wait that long!)
We'll see what happens over the next week.

Baby Bump
Since the new little one is due in about 2 weeks, I figured it was about time to get a baby bump picture up here. This is actually the only baby bump picture we have for our little girl so far. I kept meaning to take them as the months went on, but it's amazing how time flies. I can't believe she's almost here! Yay!

Playing around at Coast Guard Beach
We took a little pre-Thanksgiving-lunch trip over to Coast Guard Beach to let Evan run around and check out the waves. It was beautiful weather. Even though it was a little windy, since the temp was in the 50s, it didn't even feel cold. What a wonderful way to enjoy Thanksgiving on the Cape!
Can you tell the sun was a little bright?

Jumping in muddy puddles
We have a routine on weekdays where I go get Evan from daycare, then John meets us in the garage and takes Evan out to get the mail and run around outside while I go in and get dinner ready. Well, this past Friday it was pouring rain, but that didn't deter Evan from wanting to go outside to play after he got home. So John was a very good sport and they ran around in the rain (jumping in puddles, going on the slide and the swings, everything). Evan loved it!
"Seriously, you're going to let me jump in puddles?!"
"Cool!"

"This is the best!!"
Simsbury Fly-in
We took Evan to the Simsbury Fly-in, which is a little fair at the Simsbury Airport. They had lots of airplanes out on the field so Evan got to see them up close. We also saw quite a few airplanes fly onto the runway and we were just leaving when the Lifestar helicopter came in, but it hovered right above us before landing, so Evan got a good look at it. OH! And we had a pancake breakfast there too! That was the highlight for me. Pancakes (with butter and syrup) and sausage and I didn't have to make it myself! Evan loved the pancakes too. I like when we go out and he eats what we're eating and enjoys it. It makes life much easier (and also makes me feel like a more capable parent - I'll take all the help I can get). Anyway, we all had a great time!
Evan and John watching a plane land (it's the yellow plane out on the runway). The planes looked much closer when were were there. It was pretty cool actually.
This was the Lifestar helicopter coming in to land as we were leaving. You can tell Evan was a little sleepy, he was more interested in his Lovey and his pacifier than the helicopter.

Choo choo train!
We went to Septemberfest today and Evan and I got to take a ride on the train! This was Evan's first train ride. I have to admit, it was faster than I thought it would be and bumpier because it was going over grass, so Evan got a little freaked out, but he hung in there! My brave little boy.

Trip to Schroon Lake
Jess and Ian came over to visit for 2 weeks in August! We had a wonderful time (hope they did too!) Evan loved having them here. He played it cool, but he kept looking for them if they weren't in the room and by the end of the visit, he'd go find them to give them hugs before he went to bed. Very cute =)
Most of the time we were off doing things and just wanted to enjoy the moment, so there aren't a whole lot of pictures from 2 weeks worth of fun, but here are a few from our trip to Aunt Jodi and Uncle Barry's summer house on Schroon Lake in the Adirondacks.

Barry took Ian out in the motorboat and Jess, Emily, and May went kayaking. They're all out there somewhere!
