Recent Evan Pictures

We haven't done a whole lot that was noteworthy recently, but I've taken some Evan pictures here and there so I figured I'd share. It's always fun to see Evan pics!! =)
Evan loves Elmo at the moment, so John downloaded an Elmo DVD onto the computer. Evan was mesmerized.

His new pose, leaning back on the couch

This is foggy because it was taken just after Evan tried to eat the camera. Something about the camera looked tasty apparently!

Now on to some REAL food. I think he's training for the World Waffle Eating Championship.

This is the point at which I  broke down and took the waffle out of his mouth before I had a heart attack. I always worry that he's going to choke.

One chubby little finger poking at the camera

Playing with Thomas and Daddy

I love how cute he looks with just a diaper on...

Hmmm, I wonder if this will fit on the bridge?

Evan's Ear Surgery

Evan's ear surgery went very smoothly! We were pretty nervous about it, mostly about the general anesthesia, because the procedure itself is fairly common and minor. For those that don't know, Evan has had recurrent ear infections since he was little. His ears don't drain properly and fluid builds up in there, causing pressure on his ear drum and infections. So after many courses of antibiotics and visits to the Ear Nose and Throat doctor, we decided the best course of action was to have ear tubes put in. Of course, I had visions of these long tubes hanging down from his ears, which kind of freaked me out, but what they actually are are just little "grommets" inserted into his ear drum. They are open in the middle to let fluid out and let air in. You can't even see them.
So anyway, the surgery went perfectly and Evan was his happy self afterward. He didn't seem to miss a beat, eating and sleeping like usual. No obvious pain or discomfort. In fact, he seems even happier than usual since the surgery. I think having that pressure and infection out of his ears has really been a relief to him.
So hopefully the tubes do the trick and our little guy will feel much better from here on in!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

I've got the best Daddy ever! We splash through puddles and run through sprinklers and explore the playground and chase bunnies in the yard and go for walks! He gives me horsey rides and lifts me up really high in the air and makes me giggle til I have to catch my breath. He reads me books and colors with me and gives me lots and lots and lots of snuggles.
I love you Daddy! I hope you have a very happy birthday!
Love -
Evan
