Mini golf!

There's a story behind our miniature golf outing. One day, I promised Evan that if he came with me to run some errands and he was good, that we could stop at Neckers (the toy store) on the way home. He kept his end of the bargain, but when we got to Neckers, it had just closed. Evan understood and said it was okay, but then his little lip quivered and the tears started to flow. So, I took him next door to the ice cream shop (which is where the mini golf is) and we got an ice cream instead. As we sat there talking, he said out of the blue "Maybe when Jess and Ian come visit, we can play" and pointed to the mini golf. So, one day when they were here, we surprised Evan and picked him up from school early and we went mini golfing. Evan was so excited to go golfing with just "the big kids" (sorry Emma, you can come with us next year). He was good at it too! Here are some pics:

Fun stuff

Fun thing #1 - John and Ian built the shed! It was slow going for a while, and spanned a couple of days because of rain, but they finally finished it!

Fun thing #2 - John, Jess, Ian and Evan went to the CT Science Center this weekend! It was a real treat for Evan. He'd never been there before and I think he felt so special going out for an adventure with Jess and Ian. The exhibits were probably better suited for 6-10 year olds, but everyone still seemed to have fun!

This video cracks me up. There's a camera that goes around you 360 degrees. So John and Evan were actually standing still.

Fun thing #3 - Jess's Birthday/Graduation party! Since she turns 18 in August and is off to university, we had a party at our house for the Jeffrey side of the family in honor of Jess (and it was a good reason to get everyone together). We had a great time! Evan REALLY wanted to put candles on the cake, so that's why there's a 1, 2, and 3 on there.

Fun thing #4 - Hibachi! Jess and Ian had never been to a hibachi restaurant before, so we figured that was an experience that they needed to have. We had lots of fun! John even survived having enough saki to drown a horse squirted in his mouth. We'll blame that for him being the only one of us who didn't catch a veggie when the hibachi guy threw them in our mouths...

Fun thing #5- Fun with a box!

Pony ride!

Evan's friend Vinny had his birthday party at the farm and Evan got to go on a pony ride! I didn't even hold on to him. He did an awesome job (as you can see) and we had a great time at the farm!
