Fun in Boston!

So a few weeks ago in the gloom of winter I decided to plan a fun adventure. The kids wanted to go to Philadelphia because we went there a couple of years ago, but I thought we'd try something new and also explore some places that we can go to on day-trips if we like them.
So we stayed at the Seaport Hotel and went to the Boston Children's Museum, the New England Aquarium, and the Lego Discovery Center.
The kids had a great time!
They liked that the hotel had a pool. They went on their first taxi ride, which they were excited about. We ate in different places - room service one night (which was their favorite), Fanueil Hall, and a Mexican restaurant in the city (our only fail - it was "real" Mexican food. I'll stick with Taco Bell, thanks).
We got to go to Outback Steakhouse for lunch and get a Bloomin' Onion, so I was happy.
I think a good time was had by all. It was a great little weekend adventure!!

Climbing 3 stories high at the Children's Museum

Dancing in the Arthur show

Flying an airplane

Controlling the dinosaur

Shopping at the bodega

Evan driving the school bus. He even has a few passengers in there!

Touching the rays at the aquarium

Just a great white, no biggie. (It was actually just a movie screen, but still looked pretty cool)

Evan had fun using his new full-face snorkel in the hotel pool

At the Mexican restaurant. That's water in the bottle on the table, although by the end, I was wishing it was tequila. The kids were very good sports though, despite the weird food and slow service.

Creating their own virtual figurines at the Lego Discovery Center

In the 4D movie, which is just a 3D movie but they spray water and blow wind on you. Was still fun though!

Evan took this picture. It's got the Bloomin' Onion in it (oh yeah, and Dad and Emma too) so it's a keeper

Emma is 6 years old!

Our little Emma turned 6! It's hard to believe! She had a fun birthday that included a visit to the cupcake store and she had an awesome party with her friends at the gymnastics training center. It's so much fun to see her grow up!

Daddy did an amazing job putting together a beautiful gift display for when Emma woke up on birthday morning!

"Wow - Emma! This is cool!"

"This IS cool!"

Emma's birthday wish - a huge surprise egg filled with toys

At Cake Gypsy picking out some delicious cupcakes (and sporting her new wig)!

I don't think I've ever seen Emma with such a huge smile. She had an awesome time at her party!

Christmas Eve!

Okay, so I realize we've missed like half the year here, but life is busy! I'm lucky to capture the highlights!

Marshmallow snowmen

The fried mushroom assembly line
(Just in  case you're wondering, yes, that clock says 6:10. And yes, that's AM.)
Two bros hanging out

When you get the gift that you asked Santa for!

When Grandma got you the Barbie dollhouse that you really wanted, but you unwrap the package and it's a plain brown box, so your mother hands you a picture of the dollhouse. This image should be in Webster's dictionary under the definition of  Underwhelmed. "Really Emma, the dollhouse is in the box, I swear! Daddy will put it together!" (John sighs audibly in the background).

Cousins!
