Emma on the run!

We are SO proud of Emma for completing her Girls on the Run 5K! Girls on the Run is a group of girls in grades 3-6 who get together twice a week to learn about self-confidence, supporting others, and being good friends. They also train for a 5K to put into practice the skills they've built up - encouraging each other and believing in themselves.

Emma wasn't sure if she could do the 5K, but she showed up, cheered her friends, worked up all her self-confidence, and RAN THE 5K! What an inspiration to all of us! We are so proud of her for pushing herself and being brave. Congratulations Emma! You're amazing!

Evan's 10th Birthday!

Evan hit double-digits! I can't believe he's 10 already.

He definitely gets lots of artistic talent from John's side of the family. One of his presents was a drawing tablet which hooks up to his computer so that he can do drawings and animations. He really wanted one and he loves using it.

Another one of his birthday treats was a personal video from Bryson at Haminations, one of Evan's favorite Youtube channels. Haminations is mostly animated videos made by Bryson, and I think it was one of the inspirations for Evan to get into animations.

Evan is also really into Pokemon right now, so he got some Pokemon cards and action figures too. He's actually most excited about looking up the Pokemon cards he gets online to see what they're worth. He might have a future in either the stock market or gambling. I certainly enjoy playing slot machines, so if it's a gambling habit he's forming, it could be my fault.

I have to say I'm so proud of Evan. He's such a wonderful kid. Loves making people laugh, always ready with a new magic trick. An absolute sweetheart of a son and brother.
