Shugging with Emma

As you can probably tell, sometimes I have no idea what Emma is saying... Apparently I was mistaken when I thought we were making peanut butter balls. We were actually "shugging". 

Beach and Birthday

We enjoyed an awesome long weekend at the Cape! Tim and Ali's crew were at their own vacation rental nearby, so Evan and Emma got to spend some quality time with their cousins. It was fun to see Evan and Will play together and Emma fit right in with the big girls!
Since Caroline and I have birthdays one day apart, we even got to have a little birthday celebration with everyone!
We had beautiful weather, perfect for exploring the beach, going to the playground, and playing in Grandma's yard. A good time was had by all!

Uncle Tim caught a razor clam (very hard to find and even harder to catch!) and Evan got to hold it

Evan swimming in the channel. I actually had to call him to come back. I think he was ready to swim out into the bay! He could touch the bottom, so he was having a blast and I wasn't too worried (just the normal level of worry).

Emma was having a ball jumping in the big puddles!

There was this huge rock out in the bay (probably 20 feet high) and Evan climbed right up on there!

We had a little birthday celebration at home too. Evan picked out this birthday cake for me and told the lady what he wanted it to say. He's such a sweetie!

Happy Birthday, Jess!

Lovely Jess turns 19 today. Since I don't have any recent posed pictures of her, I'll post a collage of pics of her getting autographs from the actors in Fun Home, which won the Tony Award for Best Musical. We went to NYC to see it for her birthday--and it was wonderful.

Happy Birthday, Jess! And hugs from Evan and Emma and Amy, too. All at once. With Evan and Emma laughing and screaming and then jumping on you, as well. Then running away, running back, and screaming and jumping some more. All for you.
