How can it be that our little baby is 6 already?!
I can't complain though, it's so wonderful seeing Evan grow up! He's getting to be more of a big kid now. Case in point - I'm not allowed to call him "Ev" anymore, it has to be Evan - per his request. Apparently "Evan" sounds more grown up. Somehow I can still get away with calling him Goose and Banana and Little One, just not "Ev". I suppose I can't be yelling "Yay Banana!! I'm so proud of you Little One" at his high school graduation though, as a 6' 9" kid hurries red-faced across the stage, so I suppose I should try to get used to calling him Evan...someday. Maybe when he turns 7.
Anyway, he is quite the talented kid (**his mom's unbiased opinion)! He's an amazing artist. That's definitely from John's side of the family.
He loves to do magic tricks and science experiments with his kits. He even thinks up his own! I could never be that creative.
He's getting the hang of reading and can read whole books now. Usually he's easily frustrated, but he seems to be patient with reading and tries sounding out the words using the techniques he learns in school. It's so much fun having him read books to us!
Here are some pictures from Evan's various birthday celebrations! Auntie Jodi and Grandma Jane came to visit for his birthday, Grandma Nancy, Uncle Mike, Auntie Erica and the girls came over later on that day, then he had a birthday party with his friends the next day, and we went to Great-Grandma's the day after that. Lots of birthday celebrations for a special boy!
