Monday at the Cape-Guest Blogger

Yes, its me again. Jessie didn't want to guest blog. But its our last day at the Cape because we are going soon enough. Anyway, we didn't spend our last full day at the Cape sleeping in, so I'd better start typing.

First, we went out and got some lunch. Sandwiches and (why have these not been mentioned yet?) Cape Cod Potato Chips!!! How awesome is that?! We ate at Fort Hill, which overlooks Coastguard Beach. It was a very nice view.

After lunch we pressed on and drove up to Nancy and Dryden's house. After a short break there, Nancy took us out...clamming!


For the unfamiliar, a clam is a medium-sized mollusk. It buries itself in the sand, very rarely visible, and well-protected in a tough shell. The big round clams are easier to catch but the Razor clams are harder, because their shape allows them to dig faster. You have to dig around the side or underneath a razor clam or it will just keep digging deeper. You can find a clam by looking for holes which spray water, ripples coming from holes in the water, or by looking for their mouths sticking out of the sand underwater.


Looking for the signs of one is hard and needs a keen eye, but we did find quite a few. At least 15.

Afte that we went to the beach where the big waves were last time...but they weren't so big this time.


And that was the end of our final day!
